From a very damp and cold car park the cranking of engines put some life and excitement into the grey morning. Bang… splutter… backfires… and then sweet purring of motors left the car park with the sometimes grinding and crunching of gears as the cars set off north from Inverness.
This was a fabulous drive. What I found exceptionally fascinating was the way the pastures and paddocks went right down to the edge of the Sea… and also how the sheep manage to survive in such extreme conditions especially in winter.
One of the highlights for me on this day was at John O Groats…. the northern most part of the mainland of Scotland. As i said in my facebook post.. it was rugged like Max.. and wilde like me – hehehe. 🙂
The other highlight was I SWAM IN THE NORTH SEA!!!!! YES…. it WAS freezing!! Max and I were having a picnic by the sea and cooked some local fish on our little stove..and spontaneosity overtook me!!! and i whisked off my clothes and ran into the sea!!!! It did take my breath away..and yes i did get my whole body in and under – and there is video evidence to prove it… but not for public viewing heheheee !
It’s a bit tricky taking pics from the moving car… but here are some so you can get an idea of our day.
