WISDOM

Wisdom develops over time from experiences where you learn about yourself.

– Self-knowledge

Self-knowledge is knowing oneself. Self-knowledge is important so that you live YOUR life… your OWN life… and your choices meet YOUR innate needs, yearnings and goals; and so you live in harmony and alignment with who you are.

Self-knowledge is knowing yourself so you can make the appropriate choices to meet your needs and resonate with who you are.

COURAGE is required for action; so that you respect and honour who YOU are through your choices.

Why is Self-knowledge important?

Courage

Courage for me, encapsulates so many aspects and includes qualities of strength; wisdom; tenacity; compassion; integrity; faith; determination; surrender; resilience; love; acceptance… and all these qualities at different times have enabled me to lead a ‘courageous’ life.

Courage for me isn’t about being ‘fearless’. For me it is about fighting for what matters to me; and then having the wisdom to know when to surrender and walk away. I have found it has sometimes taken far more courage to surrender something than to actually fight for it.

Through Julie's wisdom and experiences, you will be able to learn more about accessing YOUR OWN courage.

𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 | 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 Luxury Handwoven Blankets 🌏Stories from life & global adventures 🧩Woven into unique collector pieces Explore ⬇️
  • The girl who was ‘too out there, too clumsy, too easily distracted, too independent growing up - was ‘too much’; and this is precisely the reason for her extraordinary life.

Now an artist; weaver, photographer, travelling the world; family; friends; a life rich with experiences.

A woman who celebrates her ‘too-muchness’.

My name is Julie and I share my life stories, and weave some of those into handwoven blankets.

I also share some photographs of how I see the world.

I’ve been told for much of my life that I’m ‘too out there. Too much’. I am so grateful they noticed!

Save this as a reminder to reflect on your own ‘too-muchnesses. Love you to share with us all what you were told you were ‘too…’ growing up, and perhaps YOUR story!
  • If this doesn’t look like you running to your studio to weave, perhaps you need some creative inspiration?

Come follow along and see if you can find yourself some tips and creative mojo to get you running to your loom like I do!
  • Your weaving isn’t valued because it looks like it was made by a machine.
It is valued because it didn’t!
Come along for tips, ideas and inspiration; as we create what is valued - together.
  • Just realised that perfection in your weaving isn’t the goal? Perfection isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. Machines can do that. Soul-less. What you create with your own hands is unique and unreplicable.
Come join me as we weave our own life stories through our own hands.
  • Want perfection? Use a machine. Your hands are the whole point. Your hands leave traces that your pieces are made by a human. Your own lived experience. Soul-filled!

Want your own handmade - creative inspiration, tips and ideas?
Come follow along!
  • Wished someone had told me this when I started weaving.
What NOT to do with your gorgeous Indie dyed singles from the festival; or for that project that didn’t quite get made! Excited about using them in your weaving?

STOP - before you start warping!!

You can use any yarns you like for your warp; BUT, with awareness. Discernment is necessary.

Shredding it - is a thing!
Save this in your weaving ‘note to self’ folder, and share with your creative bestie, so you avoid broken warp yarns!
  • Your hands ARE the point.  The variations in what you create with your own hands are the traces and evidence that it was created by a unique human.
  • Shredding it - in this case is NOT good! Lol Singles yarns can be an issue if used in the warp. I wished someone had told me this when I stared weaving!
  • I wished I had known about this when I started weaving! Shredded yarn is not your friend!
