My surgery went well, but I must be honest and say that I was not at all prepared for the amount of pain and swelling I experienced after the surgery; ….and of course it will pass…. and I will heal quickly. I cannot speak or sip any fluids or food just yet because of the big cut on the inside of my lip, but have worked out a way to drink using a water bottle squirting on the inside of my cheek, and to cut up small pieces of avocado, egg and banana and place on the inside of my cheek and use my tongue to swallow.
Today I have spent mainly sleeping and trying to swallow food… LOL.. but what I realised late this afternoon was how truly important photography and creativity is to me. I realised much more deeply that I don’t just ‘go and do art’… I actually LIVE creatively and creating ALL the time.
In post-op I took photos of myself with my iPhone. I didn’t know why… at the time I didn’t even think why – I just did it…and then this afternoon I immersed myself with the half a dozen images on my iPhone using Snapseed – a very groovy iPhone app which I hadn’t used before.
While I was looking at these images, I connected with how I was feeling when I took the photos…. to share with you – me.
