About the Author: Julie
I am a Journeywoman. I live my life as an explorer. An adventurer. An Observer. An Artist. There is no differentiation between how I live my life and the art that is an expression of it. It is through my experience adventuring the unknown, that I learn more about myself. My aim through this connection is to live where my expression is fully in alignment with the essence of who I am. “In the field of Fine-Art Photography, Julie stands apart from others with the way she sees the world and expresses her connection within it. Julie Stephenson’s photographs are sublime. Her work is an expression of her deep connection; and a gift to the world.”

𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 | 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 Luxury Handwoven Blankets 🌏Stories from life & global adventures 🧩Woven into unique collector pieces Explore ⬇️
  • Thinking of weaving? A rigid heddle loom is a great start. I use a really big one with a very big shuttle. It’s a 48” @ashford_wheels_looms Rigid heddle loom.

I like to walk rather than sit to weave so this is the perfect size for me, so I can weave my blankets.

Come follow along to see what I weave using this very big shuttle. I may even make you laugh along the way.
  • Four things I learned from one month not buying yarn for my weaving. Save this for your own reference!

1. Miss chatting to our postman about yarn.
2. Just don’t have the right yellow.
3. Nobody, yes nobody gave me a gold crown. Not even a gold star!
4. I was so sad I took up a hobby. Sewing. I’ve bought heaps of fabric!

So, because I’m not sure I even like sewing now, it was all pointless.

Back to weaving now. So looking forward to chatting to the postman again! 🤣

Come follow along to see what I weave with my next parcel!
  • Stuck for ideas for your weaving? Use what you’ve done! I’ve woven my memories from one of our roadtrips 100 year old vintage car style, where our goal was to drive from Bangkok to London. Made it through Thailand, Laos, Tibet, Kyrgyzstan and broke down there.. lol.. but that’s another story!

Follow for more weaving ideas and stories. I may even make you laugh!
  • Bold, sassy older weaver! I share freely all my weaving tips and ideas. Look around my space. Come follow along in my sometimes unhinged studio. Deeply committed to my art and weaving practice; but I may make you laugh.
  • You too can weave this. I’m a weaver. Bad*ss sassy weaver actually! Simple tools. Ashford rigid heddle. Gorgeous handwoven blankets.

I share tips and ideas freely, so you too can weave soul-filled items Get comfy, follow along and stay a while. I may even make you laugh along the way.
  • Welcome to my occasionally unhinged weaving studio. You can save this and share with your bestie as a reminder that ‘Life’s too short not to have a good laugh!’
  • Save this as a reminder when things get a bit tough, just go to your loom.
Come follow along to see if next time my brain.exe is functioning!
  • Oops. Save this as a reminder if you ever accidentally missed some slots threading your reed.
It’s an easy fix as long as you find the perfect weight to keep the replaced threads the same tension as the rest of the warp.
Always surprises here in my studio. Need a bit more of that? Come join in!
  • When all else fails, just weave! That’s just what I do! Save this as a reminder to make your weaving your go-to when things just aren’t going the way you thought.
Hang around to see if next time I endeavour to make content, my brain.exe is functioning!
