Simpson Desert after Rain

The Simpson desert after rain – amazing!! We have just returned from the GREEN CENTRE. It was a privilege and such a humbling experience to journey through this beautiful landscape after so much nourishing rain. Wherever we camp we are conscious of our impact and remove all our waste with us. We carry and not burn our rubbish; we have our own toilet so our waste is not left; and I am a strong advocate to women to take with them in a zip lock bag their used toilet paper from roadside wees, instead of leaving it disrespectfully to litter the environment. COME TRAVEL WITH ME BY LOOKING THROUGH MY GALLERIES! – by clicking on the numbered links below. Rather than the ‘Best Of’ tour that we have become accustomed in our fast paced ‘grab quick’ lives, I have offered extensive galleries for those who wish to really get an idea of the 10,000 km which we travelled. This is the closest many will get to travelling in this beautiful landscape, which is why I have included so many photos and an extensive gallery. I think of these galleries as like a good book – you can either dive into […]

rain in south-east queensland

Much of Queensland is inundated with water at the moment. On the farm here we have received over 25 inches of rain already in December, had only 5 days without rain recorded , and only 3 days which were sunny for more than 4 hours. Here is our road which was damaged after heavy rain the other night. The council had just finished fixing and replacing the drain under the road, all their repairs were washed away!
